IWA, GWOPA and WATERWORX
Climate Smart

Target Audience

Water and Sanitation Utilities

Description

The IWA Climate Smart Utilities Initiative supports all utilities worldwide to act collectively and share knowledge. Climate Smart Utilities are water and sanitation utilities that are improving their climate resilience by adapting to a changing climate while contributing to a significant and sustainable reduction of carbon emissions. Under the IWA Climate Smart Initiative, the Recognition Programme aims to inspire utilities and stakeholders to become increasingly climate-smart and embrace the cultural shift on three interconnected pillars for action on adaptation, mitigation, and leadership. Through this programme water and sanitation utilities can share best practices and raise awareness to become  Climate Smart and embrace the cultural shift required for a water-wise future.

This webinar, organised by IWA in partnership with GWOPA (Global Water Operators’ Partnerships Alliance) and WaterWorX, will highlight the accomplishments of some IWA-recognised utilities from Africa, Asia, and Europe. The webinar will provide the opportunity for participants to learn from the experiences of leading utilities, gain inspiration for their initiatives, and understand the importance of integrating adaptation, mitigation, and leadership into their operational frameworks.
