The MSc in Water and Sustainable Development is an innovative and interdisciplinary programme designed to address the complex challenges of water management and sustainable development in a changing world. This highly regarded degree brings together diverse fields of expertise, equipping students with the knowledge and skills to create effective solutions for the water sector.

The programme’s interdisciplinary character ensures that students understand water-related issues holistically, integrating environmental, technical, social, and economic perspectives. Students can choose from four specialised tracks, each focusing on a specific aspect of water and sustainability:

  • Water Hazards, Risks and Climate
  • Water, Food and Energy
  • Water Resources and Ecosystems Health
  • Water and Health

 The programme culminates with conducting thesis research and writing.

The programme offers maximum flexibility to customise study trajectories to individual learning needs and career opportunities.

Active coaching
Coaches support students in building their customised programme and provide study advice throughout the programme.

Interdisciplinary
Learning activities within the programme encourage multidisciplinary collaborations and engage students with interdisciplinary approaches.

Problem-oriented curricula
The programme offers problem-oriented curricula based on actual water-related challenges that engage students in critical and innovative thinking, to be able to handle future challenges.
